Schattenfall, im Original bekannt als Shadow Fall, ist ein kanonischer Roman mit einem Umfang von 416 Seiten, der von Alexander Freed geschrieben und erstmals am 23. Juni 2020 durch den Verlag Del Rey veröffentlicht wurde. Es handelt sich um den zweiten Teil der Alphabet-Squadron-Reihe und knüpft inhaltlich an den Vorgänger Das Alphabet-Geschwader an. Die deutschsprachige Ausgabe erscheint am 16. November 2022 mit einem Umfang von 528 Seiten durch den Blanvalet-Verlag.

Beschreibung[]

Erstmals angekündigt wurde der Roman unter einem vorläufigen Cover auf StarWars.com am 4. Oktober 2019.[8] Das endgültige Cover wurde zusammen mit weiteren Informationen über die Protagonisten und Antagonisten am 2. April 2020 gezeigt.[9] Eine erste Leseprobe wurde am 7. April 2020 auf StarWars.com gezeigt.[10] Am Tag der Veröffentlichung des Romans im Handel, erschien auf StarWars.com ein Interview mit dem Autor, in welchem das Buch zeitlich in die Star-Wars-Timeline eingebettet wird.[5] Der Nachfolgeband heißt Der Preis des Sieges.[7]

Hintergrundinformationen[]

In der ersten Veröffentlichtung von Shadow Fall wurde die Temperance als Nebulon-B-Fregatte geführt. Durch Abänderung des Modells ohne Anpassung des Kontexts einiger Sätze impliziert der Text nun allerdings, dass die Hellion's Dare ebenfalls ein MC75 war.
